Andorra Nature
If you have hiking shoes and would enjoy landscapes, lakes, and alpine forests, we recommend four options (all requiring your own vehicle).
1- Tristaina Solar Viewpoint
For the more curious and thrill-seeking visitors, don’t miss the opportunity to go up to the Ordino-Arcalís mountain resort.

From there, you can take the gondola lift (the most daring can choose the cabins with a transparent floor), followed by a chairlift up to the Solar Viewpoint: an architectural marvel perfectly integrated into the mountain, from which you can admire the French, Catalan, and Andorran Pyrenees, as well as the three Tristaina lakes lying below.
We recommend walking back down to fully enjoy the scenery. At the base of the chairlift, you will find the restaurant La Coma d’Arcalís, ideal for a good meal or simply enjoying a drink on the terrace.
Guests wishing to do this excursion will also benefit from a 50% discount on gondola and chairlift tickets, offered to wedding guests. Bookings can be made via this link https://www.ordinoarcalis.com/fr/mirador-solaire-de-tristaina using the code MariaMaxime2026. Don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it!

2- Pardines and Engolasters
If you prefer a peaceful mountain walk, we recommend the Pardines trail in Encamp, which leads to Lake Engolasters in Escaldes.
The trail is about 3.5 kilometers long, completely flat and shaded, and offers around one hour of walking to reach the lake. Along the way, you will find fountains, rest areas, information panels about local flora and fauna, as well as the small Oratory of Our Lady of Ecology.
At the lake, two restaurants with beautiful views are perfect for a grilled lunch or simply enjoying a drink. It is also possible to walk around the lake.
There are two ways to get there:
From Escaldes, visiting the lake first and then taking the Pardines trail. Parking:

This route also passes by Sant Miquel d’Engolasters, a gem of Pyrenean Romanesque heritage.

3- Incles Valley
Another easy walk through a glacial valley surrounded by beautiful alpine scenery.
Along the way, you will see contemporary houses inspired by traditional bordes (old stone mountain barns), in a protected area where vehicle traffic is restricted to preserve the site.
The valley can be explored on foot or by small electric train, over approximately 6 km to the end of the valley, where you will find a charming restaurant serving excellent cuisine, called “L’Ovella Negra”.

4- Madriu Valley
The Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 in recognition of its outstanding landscape value. The complete preservation of an entire valley of this scale is extraordinary and unique in the Pyrenees.

Several hiking routes are available, with varying levels of difficulty. They allow you to discover traditional Andorran constructions (bordes, orris, dry-stone walls), as well as five mountain refuges.
The Madriu Valley has remained unchanged for centuries, with no roads, no settlements, and no vehicles.

Andorra Culture
If you would like to discover a bit of the country’s history, we recommend two interesting visits, both accompanied by a guide.
The museums are closed on Mondays, so please plan your visits on other days.
1- Casa de la Vall
Former Parliament and former seat of justice of the Principality, located in the historic centre of Andorra la Vella.
The visit can be extended with a walk through the old town, with its granite houses and narrow streets shaped by the mountainous terrain.

2- Casa d’Areny-Plandolit
A 17th-century manor house offering a glimpse into the daily life and traditions of one of Andorra’s wealthiest families.
It is located in Ordino and can be reached by car or public transport.
The visit can be completed with a walk through the charming old town of this picturesque village.
